Philadelphia Trip pt 2 (food)
Philadelphia is a sandwich Mecca for foodies from all over the world. But it’s not all about the cheesesteak or technically “steak sandwich”. Now granted the city’s mastered the steak sandwich but they also have a killer roast pork. I recommend Di Nics at the Reading Terminal Market, make sure you get it with the broccoli rabe. For something quick nothing is more iconic than an Italian hoagie. Head to your local WaWa to get an authentic Philly experience.
Philly also has some great seafood options, especially Blue crab straight from The Chesapeake Bay. Chickies & Pete’s is the spot to be during game time to score some awesome crab. The fan/bar culture is strong in the city with good brew and pub grub a lot of it influenced by the Irish and the Germans. Millers Twist in the Reading Terminal Market has the best pretzel in town. Awesome Asian food can be found in the city as well. From old school Chinese noodles from DanDan to high end Japanese cuisine from Morimoto. Granted I’d not the most authentic but that’s ok. One shouldn’t sleep on the food game in Philly because it’s top notch. Go Birds 🦅
